Welcome to the official web site of the St.Maarten-St.Martin Classic Yacht Regatta.
The regatta is sanctioned and organized in cooperation with Jean Jarreau Media sarl by the St.Maarten-St.Martin Classic Yacht Club with headquarters in the Pasanggrahan Royal Guesthouse Hotel in Philipsburg on the boardwalk in St.Maarten.
We are happy to announce today that the Classic Regatta is BACK on the calendar.
We have changed the regatta dates, from the end of January to the end of March, on request of many yacht owners and crew.

The Classic Regatta will again set sail from Philipsburg on Friday to the French side Marigot and return to Philipsburg on Saturday. Sunday will see the fleet going to Anguilla and back to Philipsburg.
Tall ships will compete in the Saturday leg with start in the Bay of Marigot to the finish in Great Bay Philipsburg.

Results of the 2013 regatta will be here on line as from the first regatta day and only a few hours after each race.

WHERE AND WHEN ?

The sixth St.Maarten-St.Martin Classic Yacht Regatta will be sailed again in the last week of March, on Friday March 29, Saturday March 30 and Sunday March 31, 2013.
There will be 3 Race days again as in previous years, Thursday March 28th, 2013 is the official openings day with skippers briefing and welcome party at the Pasanggrahan Hotel Philipsburg.

Great Bay in Philipsburg St.Maarten will  be the place to be for most of the sailing and the parties.

Everything will be concentrated around the Royal Pasanggrahan Guesthouse and Hotel and the Pasanggrahan Classic Yacht Club Bar.
The yachts and participants will arrive in Marigot, St.Martin at Fort Louis Marina and in the bay, on be on the docks and on anchor Friday afternoon and the evening after the regatta.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE ?

We can only accept Classic Yachts, Vintage Yachts, Wooden Schooners, Spirit of Tradition yachts and all the other real "Classic" sail boats.
If you have a traditional work boat like the Anguilla boats, the Cariacou sloops or any old authentic work/sail boat, and even a small sailing dinghy you can also participate in a separate class.
There will be a special class and prizes for the Cariacou sloops.

We have a special class, the "Spirit of Classic" class in which we allow older yachts that are not yet considered classics but have all the ingredients to become one in their later future years.

We hope to welcome again the local traditional sailboats from Anguilla and Grand Case on Sunday March 31, 2013 for special races off Great Bay Beach.

SPECIAL AWARDS

We will again have special awards for the participants.
prizes will go to Most Photogenic Yacht, Oldest Yacht, Best Dressed Crew, Best Refit and others.
The Kees Goslinga trophee ( pictured left ) will be given to the most beautiful restored yacht.

OUR TECHNICAL COMMITTEE

Our Race Director is again Rien Korteknie.
He has several great advisors and colleagues.
There is also a whole team of volunteers to lay out the markers and buoys, and many helpers are on the jury boat and the rescue boats.

O
ur organization has also a doctor on the water during each race day.

And last but not least, we have Pascal, our main Press Boat owner and Captain working also sometimes as taxi boat or tow boat and coordinating with other press boats, the helicopter, sea rescue and others.

On shore, we have Chocoo, our technical do it all from Belgium, who coordinates set up of the parties, tents etc.
